Skullcandy SCE-3B Link Earbuds - Universal Plug Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)There is nothing on the market like this...skull candy is the first and last to make these....listen to your mp3 or other music player and also able to answer calls with built in mic and volume on control on the earbuds....works with any phone and and muisc source...the only catch is...the send/recieve button on the earbuds works differently with every model/brand of cell phone..in my case it doesnt do anything...but other brands..it can be used for send/recieve calls, mute, voice calls, etc...all in all its still a great product...decent price...can also be used by itself with your cell phone as a headset or if you have an mp3 player built into your phone you can use to listen to music and then when a call comes in you can used it take calls or make calls...still works with all phones for auto answer and voice dailing..just have to adjust your settins on your phone..and hey their also a great pair of earbuds for just listening to you mp3 player. Skullcandy makes good audio products.

These lightweight stereo earbuds actually double as a handsfree accessory for your phone, allowing you to switch between your music and your calls at the touch of a button.
The Link Earbuds come with one plug for the handsfree port of your mobile phone and a standard 3.5mm miniplug for a music player. When a call comes in while you're listening to your music player, you can either mute the music entirely or reduce it with the in-line volume control. A super-sensitive mic picks up your side of the conversation. The caller on the other end will not be able to hear the music you're playing.

The system supports mobile phone models with voice-dialing features, so you can make calls with the simple touch of the Link Earbuds console button. The button can also be used to access specific features of your phone, such as connect, disconnect, last-call redial, voice dialing, mute, etc.

Most phones are designed or can be programmed to ring into a headset automatically when a call comes in. Otherwise, you'll be able to feel an incoming call by setting your phone to vibrate mode and keeping it in your pocket or on your belt.

Belkin Sports Sleeve Case and Armband for 30 GB iPod 5G, 5.5G (Black) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)The package contains the following pieces:
1) A transparent screen protector that can be used ONCE! if you fail to attach it correctly to the screen leaving no air bubbles, you are done! otherwise, I'm afraid you will end up throwing it in the bin!
2) A Silicon case to cover the iPod. Here's a tip on how to put your iPod in it without tearing it, simply insert your iPod from the screen opening, not from the below opening (the blow opening can be torn when you expand it to insert your iPod)
3) An adjustable elastic wide armband that can fit nicely on your arm as long as it's not bigger than 18"/45cm!
My experience with it was dumping the screen protector as I was unable to get rid of one air bubble, and when I tried to take off the protector a little bit to clean the area where the bubble was, I ended up creating more air bubbles! my advice is, clean the screen fully before applying the cover. As for the case itself, it fits the iPOD nicely, and the armband surrounds my 18"/45cm arm nicely but without any room for expansion. I wasn't sure I will feel comfortable while weight lifting, especially when training arms, but to my surprise, even with Biceps curls and close-grip bench press (target the main muscles in your arms, biceps and triceps) and even with the pump that results from exercising, I was still comfortable with it.
One last thing, I would recommend putting your iPod upside down while you are attaching it using the armband (click wheel up and screen down); this is because you will be able to see the screen correctly if you simply raise your arm.

Nike Sport 128 MB MP3 Player Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I love the looks of this player and as a runner, its a joy to use. The headphones work for me, but they do come out of your ears easily if you turn your head abruptly. Im glad the remote was not hardwired into the headphones, because I found the buttons too small to use while running, and the "wire management system" (via clever magnets), totally unnecessary. The biggest disadvantage of this unit is the reliance on 3rd party software. The more contemporary players today simply plug into a Firewire port and allow you to drag and drop music on an icon. Clean, fast and brainless, no drivers or extensions to load. As a publishing professional I use both Macintosh and Windows, but I prefer Mac and that's what I use at home. From the Mac users point of view, I feel deceived. This is hard for me to write because Ive been a runner and Nike loyalist for years.
In Nike's owners manual (which I read before purchase), it states "software upgradeable and will support future playback formats and software extensions will be made available on www.nike-philips.com," and under system requirements it stated Mac OS9.X. I thought cool; my OS of choice is supported so I purchased the unit. During the install the software automatically took me to the Musicmatch web site, (the software that interfaces with the unit), which informed me that they were no longer supporting Macintosh. "We apologize for any incontinence." Shouldn't this apology come from Nike? And why are they still selling this unit with such claims? I guess Mac users constitute such a small customer base, a class action suit is not likely.
Bottom line for Mac users, this unit is not supported by any version of iTunes, the software shipped with the unit (musicmatch) is no longer supported, the MP4 format is not suppored; which means music downloaded from Apple's music store can not be used, and needless to say OSX uses need not apply because the musicmatch software will not run properly in the classic environment.

Tune Belt Open View Armband for 2nd generation iPod Shuffle Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)The tune belt arm band for the second generation iPod Shuffle is a well made and functional product. The iPod fits nicely into a compartment with a clear plastic window that allows access to the device's controls, and a velcro tab keeps excess headphone wire out of the wearer's way. The washable neoprene material flexes with the wearer's body movements, a feature that facilitates weightlifting. The only drawback of this item is that the user must remove the iPod from its compartmant to turn the device on and off, a minor inconvenience that does not detract from the utility of the product.

Archos 105 2 GB Flash Video MP3 Player (Gray) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My Archos xs 100 stopped working - it had a small harddrive that crashed (again). The Archos 105 is solid state. I use this mp3 player primarily for listening to recorded books from the library. The player needed to have bookmark capability, which this does. The short story is that this player works like I need it to, the price was right and has features (video player) that I haven't even gotten to yet.

Sandisk 1GB Sansa m240 Silver MP3 Player NEW Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I wanted a player that connects to any computer easily and plays MP3's. I checked out the other SanDisk Sansa m240 1 GB MP3 Player listed on Amazon for almost $80.00 and after reading the reviews, I decided to buy it. Luckily, I found the same player FOR $20!!!!
I received my order in 5 days, plugged it into my laptop, drag and dropped my Files onto the Sansa and DONE!!! Too easy!!!
I like the fact that no software is required although the order includes a disk (not sure what's on there) and that you don't need to charge the player. Just put the AAA battery in and you're good to go.
This is a pretty good, simple (no fuss) MP3 player especially for under $20.

RCA RD1000 Kazoo 32 MB MP3 Player Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)After about a week of researching about 25 mp3 players I finally settled on the RCA Kazoo. I wanted the smallest mp3 player possible, but didnt want to sacrifice great sound. My Kazoo delivers for only $... After much research I decided I needed a unit that had: lock (so buttons dont get pushed accidentally), bass boost/ equalizer, digital volume control, big clear display, & fast transfer rate (2.4Mb/sec). You'd be supprised many more expensive units dont have all of these features. I also didnt care about other formats since mp3 is the standard & all formats can be converted to mp3 via software. The included software Music Match & Real Jukebox are excellent. I just dragged & dropped my mp3 files from explorer into real Jukebox. Real Jukebox lets you set the bit rate you would like and automatically lowers bitrate on files to bitrate you choose to save memory/size. This brigs me to the 1 of 2 drawbacks. ALthough 32 mb is common w/ mp3 players it isnt enough (at 128k bit rate). I plan on ordering a 64 MB MM card (dont pay more than $1/mb if you decide to buy memory). I did find out that at 56k the sound was still awesome & I can hold about 75 minutes of music w/o extra memory. The second drawback doesnt apply to me but I read in one review that this doesnt support Mac. If you are a windows user you will be very satisfied!! I can't see why anyone could buy a player w/ a slower transfer rate; USB is the way to go.
One last note: The display is large & easy to read. It shows track, time, bit rate, volume, battery, & dsp. It does not show the name of the current song that is playing the way larger mp3 players do.
Hope this helps & good luck in your search.

MP3/WMA FM Car Modulator with USB Port/Audio Input Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Pros: Cheap, Good sound quality, Easy to use, works with any USB storage device.
Cons: Restarts from the first song...
I brought this gadget from Walmart after doing some research on the internet. The device is very easy to use.. Just plug into the Car charger, Add the USB device tune to an FM channel and start listerning to the music. The sound quality is not bad for the price.
But there is a problem I came to know only after I brought this product. Every time you start the car the player starts right from the first song..:( this is very very bad becuase if I have 100 songs and I just listern to 50 songs..I have to push the next button 50 times to hear the next song...
Anyway I know this is not going to be a long term MP3 device to my car...So I am happy with what I have right now.
I paid 28$ for this one in Walmart. You can get a 1 GB USB drive to 50$ from any online store...

Philips Consumer Products ACT200 MP3 Digital Audio Player (64 MB) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I have been looking for a portable MP3 player to use at the gym for some time now, and this unit is the first that appears to be geared for the athelete. For the most part the player fits the bill, providing a lightweight unit that fits snuggly into a flexible arm sleeve. Here are the only downsides in my view:
1. The headphones while designed to stay out of the way with a cord that goes down your backside and around to the mp3 player on your arm is a little awkward. Specifically the two earpieces are attached to one another via a plastic arm, which can dislodge if you are doing excercises where you lean your head back.
2. Software setup was not a breeze. It took me a few attempts where my computer rebooted in the middle of accessing the unit for no apparant reason.
3. the headphone connector to the unit is a bit sensitve. I have to wiggle the connector on mine when i attach to the mp3 player to get full stereo sound. Another pair of headphones would probably solve the problem, but it would have been nice to have this work with no problem.
Having said all of this, i am happy with this thing. The only improvement i would make would be a pair of wireless earpieces, but i guess i will have to wait a couple of years before those appear on the market.

Sony MZNH600D Hi-MD MiniDisc Walkman Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This Player is very nice and capacity is OK for a removable media, however the whole Hi-MD---OpenMG----SonicStage---ATRAC is very inconvenient to use.
I will summarize:
PROS:
-ATRACplus algorithm sound decent at 64kbps, comparable to MP3 at 128kbps in my opinion. There is also a 256kbps option which sounds very good, but files are pretty big for the Hi-MD capacity, makes it inconvenient.
-The advertised price for the Hi-MD blank disks is ok, around $7.
-Price compares to that of the MiniIpod or some Flash MP3 players, however this is "supposed" (read below) to be upgradeable by buying more blank Hi-MDs
-Runs on AA battery.
-You can run with it and get no skips.
CONS:
-You MUST use SonicStage software to transfer files to / from the MD.
-No MP3 support on the unit, only plays ATRAC. MP3s are transcoded by the PC software.
-SonicStage is a little bit unreliable.
-You CAN NOT upload songs from MD to your PC. So you can't use the MDs as a backup of your PC music collection, because if your PC fails, you can't upload the songs again.
-Even if you encode songs in ATRACplus with SonicStage, you can't move the files to another PC. And I'm not talking about illegal moving, you might have more than one PC.
-You can only play (so far) ATRACplus files with Sony's software (in your PC, I mean).
-Hi-MD blank discs are scarce, not even sony online store has them in stock at the moment of this review.
I think this unit is a good alternative to a Flash based MP3 player of medium capacity (256-512MB) if you can find it for less than $200.
For a little more than this you can get a 4/5 GB HD player like the MiniIpod and save the hassle of the propietary format, algorithm, rights protection format (OpenMG) and having only one choice of software.
I think Sony could have made a good product but it's taking the wrong path towards protection of copyrights. They shouln't do so at the expense of reducing the product functionality and reliability.

Sony D-NE319 MP3/ATRAC CD Walkman (Blue) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This player is the best for only 40 bucks at walmart. It has a lot of features, including custom equalizer, 3x bass boost, track time left, and it also memorizes your place and resumes it after you stop it and play it again. It also only uses 1 battery at a time and lives for up to 41 hours on just that one battery.
Minor problems: buttons kind of small and sound is not the best quality at the highest volume, and no backlight (if this is a big problem for you, bring a flashlight).
But it is overall the best product out there you can get inexpensively with tons of great features and a massive crapload of mp3 memory and features.
However, I must edit this review now to say that I got a cheap Creative MuVo mp3 player and it is MUCH better.

ZVUE Spirit 1 GB MP3 Player--Preloaded with 15 Patriotic Songs (Red, White, and Blue) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Let me start by saying i picked this thing for 10 bucks on a clearance sale, but i would gladly pay the 35 bucks here for it.
When i first started using it i was angry that the sound quality was so low, then i realized that the real problem was i hated the preloaded music. Once i stuck my own music on it, it sounded great, the headphones aren't bad either, certainly comparable to stock iPod 'phones.
By the way, the best feature of this entire device is that there is NO included software, the thing reads on your computer like a flash drive, you simply drag the music you want over to the player. you can even leave it in folders, which will show up on the player, if you want to keep it organized.
I'm not one to buy American flag anything, but to be sure, no one will mistake my MP3 player for theirs. I get alot of comments about it at the gym.
Also i should note, its not only small, its increadably light, it weighs less than my plastic lighter and is smaller than my iPod Nano.
The little speaker built in is mostly for kicks, you wont be listening to music on it, but its a cute feature.
In fact, thats what this whole device is, just a ton of cute features. Even the case it came in looks amazing.
long live the Zvue!

(More customer reviews)I was getting tired of my stock 2007 Scion stereo's flakiness when controlling my iPod, so I had this installed. Overall I'm happy with this unit; iPod performance is flawless which is what I got it for.
- Appearance of the unit is nice looking. Although it is shiny shiny, it's not overloaded with bright multicolored LEDs or wacky shapes. And it's easy to change the illumination color to match the rest of your dash lights.
- Sound quality is very good; I went into the advanced settings and tweaked things like the car size, number and sizes of speakers.
- The display washes out a fair amount in bright sunlight, though it is still legible.
- iPod control is straightforward and works well; I'm using it with an 80GB iPod Classic (haven't tried generic MP3 playback on a CD or a USB drive). You can search by artist, genre, playlist, etc., set random/repeat, etc.
- The display is fairly programmable; you can change the color (only one color at a time, thankfully), and also change what kind of information is shown on many screens (i.e. when playing iPod, listening to radio, etc).
- Selecting a radio preset or a favorite (which can be a station or an iPod playlist) is a pain. You have to press a button, look at the unit and turn a knob to select the preset from a menu, and then press the knob in. MUCH too complicated for what should be a basic simple function.
- The manuals go into lots of detail explaining how to access features, but in many cases the features themselves aren't well explained. You get a printed quick start manual (which is so basic it's pretty useless), and the full manual is only provided on a CD (you can also download it).
- Bluetooth seems to work fine; an external mic is included. The only annoyance I found w/Bluetooth is that when you get an incoming call, you only hear loud 'incoming call' tones from the unit if you're listening to iPod, radio, etc. - if the unit is on but not set to an active source, then it doesn't make a sound when you get a call; you have to hear your phone's ringer or feel it vibrate, or look at the unit's display to see that a call is incoming.
- I don't know if this has much to do with this particular model, but I had my installers set up the unit work with my stock steering wheel stereo controls. The controls do work but they're pretty touchy - e.g. pressing volume + for too short a time doesn't do anything, but pressing it a little too long cranks up the volume a lot.

Sandisk 2GB Sansa m250 Black MP3 Player NEW Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This player is durable and low maintenance. requires 1 AAA battery that seems to last forever, and i've had mine now for over 3 years. It's getting hard to find mp3s that accept regular batteries (most have built in rechargeable batteries that are hard to find when bad)., i bought 2 more of these for future.
